ISO18404: Sector Scheme Announced

In recent months on our Services Limited blog, we have been commenting on the activity on the Royal Statistical Society’s (RSS) ISO18404 Sector Scheme for Certification of Six Sigma & Lean practitioners and organisations. You’ll be happy to hear there has been a recent announcement that moves us another step closer.

The United Kingdom Accreditation Society (UKAS) has recently published a ‘Expressions of Interest’ notice on their website encouraging its accredited certification bodies to come forward and make their interest known to certificate organisations’ Lean or Six Sigma activity for ISO18404.

Interested accredited certification bodies have been asked to make their interest known in the pilot programme by the 23rd of September ahead of a UKAS development project. This is ahead of the first assessment centre, for Lean and/or Six Sigma professionals, which will commence on the 9th of December.

Professor Tony Bendell, chair of BSI Technical Committee MS6 and Project Manager for the Sector Scheme for Certification, believes that all is now ready for organisations and individuals to get an internationally recognised ISO certification for their Lean and Six Sigma activities.

Are you interested in ISO18404:2015 but haven’t had the chance to join us at any of our free afternoon briefing events at Charnwood House near Nottingham? Our next FREE monthly afternoon briefing session will take place on the 25th of September at 2:15 until 4:30pm. You’ll be able to share a warm beverage and some light nibbles with the Professor and the Services Limited team and have your ISO18404 questions answered.

Even if you’ve been to a ISO18404:2015 afternoon briefing session in the past, this is one you won’t want to miss. A lot has happened since the International Standard was released in December 2015!

Keep up to date with Professor Bendell and Services Limited on Social Media!
