Services Ltd. has been involved in public sector improvement initiatives since its foundation in 1983. Lean Public Services
At the current time the need for taking unnecessary Waste out of public services has never been greater. Whilst we are facing falling public sector revenues due to the recession, we are simultaneously facing increasing demand for services.
Furthermore, we can no longer ignore the longer-term environmental impact associated with the Carbon Footprint of the Waste in our public services.
Accordingly, it is time to act. To go ‘Green and Lean’, and we will therefore be delighted to brief you on …….. The Lean and Green Agenda.
This is, however, an area where ‘the buyer must beware’. The Lean approach has fast become a bandwagon with numerous consultancies and training organisations wanting to jump on board. Many of these do not have the expertise or track record in the field, and many do not understand the public sector. There are also those who wish to over complicate or obscure the simplicity and transparency of the approach for commercial gain.

Regional One-Day Lean Briefing Seminars for the Public Sector
These are led by Prof Tony Bendell and Simon Speller. Simon is a Cabinet Member for Stevenage Borough Council, a former Local Government officer and a senior lecturer at Middlesex Business School. The briefing seminars explain the argument and the drive for Lean Public Services, the various methods of implementation and the associated issues and arguments for each.

10-day Public Sector Master Lean Belt Training Courses
These public training courses are run on a Regional basis and are designed to fully transfer the knowledge and skills for Public Sector Lean Transformation to participants from Public Service Organisations. The 10-day programmes provide participants with both the methodology for Lean implementation in the public sector context, and the practical experience of supervised implementation of application within their organisation via an individual organisational project to be worked on between the 3-day training Modules.

Lean and Green Workshop
This One-day course is concerned with achieving improved Environmental Management and Cost Savings in the Public Sector through Lean processes. The course is based on the extensive research and application carried out in the United States in this area and is led by Prof Tony Bendell and Mike Stone. Mike is a highly experienced Environmental Management System Trainer, Consultant and Auditor with wide public sector experience.
