1-DAY Introduction to Environmental Management

Dates

The one-day seminar will give you an understanding of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) based on the international standard ISO 14001 and to assist delegates to assess application within their own organisations.

All companies and public sector organisations and their owners/managers need to be aware of the environmental laws which apply to them. Failure to comply can bring severe penalties to both the individual and the organisation. This is one of the reasons why environmental management is becoming important to senior staff.

However, there are many other reasons for introducing initiatives on environmental matters such as:

· many customers and government agencies demand a demonstration of environmental responsibility on the part of their suppliers/contractors/agents
· local pollution problems
· global warming
· the need for the company to be seen as environmentally responsible when marketing
· organisation’s owners/managers wishing to be environmentally responsible

There is considerable ignorance on the part of most organisations, large or small as to their social and legal environmental obligations.
